Introduction

Consider a scenario where you’re crafting a report or promotional video for your Digital Twin model. Static images just don’t cut it, and creating a time-lapse could be a lengthy process. Akselos presents a solution to this issue - the Animate Tool. When used in conjunction with screenshot software, it can generate an attractive rotating model that perfectly illustrates the analyzed global behavior. This tool is arranged as a support tool in the Post-Processing stage.

Animate is a support tool on Post-Processing stage:


As with other Akselos tools, the Animate tool is located on the Right Panel of the Akselos Modeler User Interface.

Terminologies

Solution Ribbon

An Akselos Modeler ribbon containing tools for solution visualization

Solution Tree

An Object Tree containing all solutions of the investigated model 


Animate options 

All the options of Animate tool are shown as below:

Setting:

  • Frame per second: set the number of frames per second (1, 5, 15, 30, 60)

Rotation: (tick on to activate the option)

  • Angular Step: This will control the speed of the rotation, the more angular step the faster rotation.
  • Plane: The plane that the solution rotates – the users’ view to graphic window (Horizontal or Vertical)
  • Direction: Clockwise or Counter-Clockwise

Displacement Scale: (tick on to activate the option)

  • Minimum: The minimum displacement scale value ( zero is smallest)
  • Maximum: The maximum displacement scale value
  • Number of Steps: The steps that will be animated (more steps mean smoother animation)

Solution Index: This option is available for solutions with time steps (tick on to activate the option)

  • Loop mode: The order of solutions to be animated.
    • Repeat: The animation will run from first step to last step and repeat that order.
    • Reverse: The animation will run from first step to last step and then run back to first step again.

How to use Animate tool

Users can follow the steps above to animate a solution:

STEP1: Open a solution - The solution will be shown on Solution Ribbon - Solution Tree. Users can solve a model to get solution or open existed solution.

STEP2: Open the Animate tool on the Right Pane.

STEP3: On Setting, select a Frames per second value from the list.

STEP4: On Rotation  Set Angular Step, Plane and Direction.

STEP5: On Displacement Scale → Set Minimum, Maximum and Number of Steps.

STEP6: Click Play to start the animation or Stop to stop it.
