“Read” Access Permission

“Write” Access Permission

“Admin” Access Permission

Three Types of Access Permissions

New users need to request permission from an administrator to grant access to an organization, which contains some folders, repositories, and collections.

Moreover, administrators of an organization can easily manage different access levels of an individual or a team (group of users) to the materials of the organization. There are 3 types of access that the administrator can set for other accounts: Read, Write, and Admin

Read: users can only read data in the collection with this permission. With the Read permission, an account can import the collection to their local machine and connect to Akselos Cloud to solve any models in this collection but cannot commit any change related to the collection datasets.

Write: users can read and commit changes for the collection but cannot set permission for anyone else to access the collection. If an account has the Write permission in an organization, it can also create new collections inside the organization.

Admin: users have full rights with the collection including Read, Write, and set permissions for other accounts to access the collection. If an account has the Admin permission in an organization, it can also create new collections or delete existing collections inside the organization.

Each type of access has a different layout and functionalities, which will be described specifically below.

Table 1. Capabilities of each access type

“Read” Access Permission

With Read access, users are allowed to import existing collections on Akselos Dashboard to their local machine via Akselos Modeler. Users then can analyze and visualize the structural responses of the Digital Twin models in Akselos Modeler.

Each item of the collection data can be downloaded separately to the local machine. Any changes of each item are also recorded, users can click on the icon to view the log history.

“Write” Access Permission

With the Write access, there are 3 buttons available: New Collection, New Repository, and New Folder. Users can freely create new collections, repositories, and folders by using these buttons.

Additionally, users can delete an empty folder. But if users try to delete a non-empty folder, an error message will appear.

“Admin” Access Permission

The Admin access not only has the same abilities as the Read and Write accesses, but also can set permissions for other individual or team users. Besides, the accounts having this access type can freely create or delete any kind of data or materials of an organization.

As shown in the figure below, the “trash bin” icons now appear on every collection, repository, and folder, which means they can be deleted by the Admin users. Moreover, as the administrator(s), users can manage teams and settings inside an organization.
